There isn't one right way to get married.
You can have the big wedding.
You can have the small wedding.
You can invite 150 people because you genuinely love having 150 people there.
You can invite your favourite 12.
You can spend all day at it.
You can be home by dinner.
The point is that it should feel like you. Choose the things that mean something to you, and let the rest go.
And the photography doesn't have to dictate the day either.
You might want three hours.
You might want five.
You might want the whole day.
Smaller doesn't automatically mean shorter.
And shorter doesn't mean less meaningful.
Maybe I'm there for the getting ready, the ceremony and lunch.
Maybe I'm there for the whole glorious thing.
All that matters to me is that you come first.
The way you want to spend your time comes first.
Uninterrupted by a belief that it all has to be or look a certain way.
The coolest people I know aren't performing. They're not curating every part of their lives. They're building lives that feel like theirs.
I think that's why I photograph weddings. Not because they're perfect, but because they're one of the few times people gather simply to celebrate each other. Lives overlap. Things feel bigger, messier, funnier, more emotional than usual. No matter the format.
